NotesMarjory's father died of penumonia when she was five, and her mother, unable to provide for the two children, sent them to Barnardos Home.

In 1924, Marjorie Potter, 9, arrived at Fremantle, Australia, in a group of Barnardos children from Child Emigration Society, Savoy, Strand, England.

She was reunited with her brother, Albert Potter, who stayed in England and settled in Sheffield, Yorkshire, in 1984 through the efforts of the Salvation Army.

Her husband Jack died in 2005 aged 85.
