additional info re the dawdy family...on the 1901 census they have NO domestics..they are living in gainsborough twp and chauncey is listed as simply a 'farmer'. Chauncey died in 1925 (arterio sclerosis) and at the time is listed as a GRAIN farmer. His father's name on the death register is James Dawdy. Chauncey is buried in the Dawdy Cemetery.
Dawdys Cemetery is now called Hillside Cemetery. The first recorded burial was that of Jeremiah Dawdy in 1829. He had bought the property in 1806. It is located on Lot 8, Concession 8, Pelham Township, Welland
County. It is located on Canboro Rd. between Fenwick and Ridgeville
