According to Ups and Downs newsletter Lucy returned from Peterborough to Toronto in 1904.

On April 9, 1904, James Henry Pugsley was born to Lucy Pugsley in Toronto, York, Ontario, Canada.

There is an entry in her notebook dated August 8, 1904 "c/o Mrs. Coveny, 1204 Yonge St." There is another entry "Received from James Henry August 8th 1904 $164.50"

On September 28, 1904, at Toronto, York, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Lucy Pugsley, 20, born in England to unknown parents; and Wm. J. Carr, 36, butcher, born in Toronto, York, Ontario, Canada, to Wm. John Carr and Isabella Graham.

There were at least 5 children born of this marriage: William Russell Carr, born July 21, 1905, in Toronto, York, Ontario, Canada; Charles Munroe Carr, born June 2, 1907, in Toronto, York, Ontario, Canada; Pearl Grace Carr, born May 5, 1909, in Toronto, York, Ontario, Canada; William Leslie Carr, born August 14, 1910, in Toronto, York, Ontario, Canada; and Edgerton Carr, born June 2, 1912, in Toronto, York, Ontario, Canada.

There were at least 2 children born of this marriage: Ernest William Denington, born January 30, 1919; and Beatrice Denington, born 1916.

Family stories tell that John Denington was still married to someone in England. Once Lucy found out, she left him and later married a man by the name of Mr. Schuman.
