In 1891, A F Rand, 10, arrived at Portland, Maine, USA, in a group of 40 Barnardo boys en route to Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

On May 12 1903, Arthur Fred Rand, 23, teamster, born England, son of Albert and Martha Rand, married Catherine Graham, 24, born Canada, daughter of Robert John H Graham and Sarah Louisa Hibson, in Toronto, York, Ontario.

On February 21, Arthur Fred Rand signed an application form for American citizenship in Pierce County, Washington, USA. Details are: aged 26 years, car-carpenter, white with dark complexion, 5'6" tall, weight 167 pounds, dark hair, brown eyes, slightly cross-eyed, b.Gravesend, Kent, England on 1st June 1881. He declared that he emigrated to the United States of America from Toronto, Canada on the Canadian Pacific Railway a. at the port of Sumas in the state of Nash on 23rd August 1907. Original signature.

The 1910 U.S. Federal Census shows Arthur F. Rand as a house carpenter residing at 6633 Oak St., Tacoma, Pierce, Washington, USA with his wife Catherine.

The 1911 US City Directories, Tacoma, Washington lists Arthur F. Rand and wife Catherine as residing at 6637 S Oakes.
