NotesFred and his two brothers was apparently placed on a farm around Kempville Ontario belonging to the Higgins family. somewhere along the line he changed his last name to READ. One the same ship were also his two brothers Horace and George. Horace also changed his name to READ early but George the oldest kept REID

Fred worked at the Experimental farm in Ottawa and retired after almost 50 years there. He died in the basement of Glebe United Church Ottawa while he was a caretaker during retirement.
