Notes Albert Rodber was born in Fulham, Middlesex, England, in 1894, the son of Richard Rodber and Alice Mary Butler. His parents married April 2 1888. He had at least 2 siblings-Richard Rodber and Alice May Rodber. Richard Rodber Sr. died in 1901 and in the 1901 census Albert's mother and siblings are living in Hammersmith, London, England. Albert was admitted to Barnardos and sent to Canada in September 1901. He was placed with Freeman Armitage in Arkona. His mother and sister joined him in Arkona, later moving to Sarnia. Prior to enlisting Albert was living in Forest, Ontario and joined the CEF December 20 1915. He was killed in action August 22 1918, in the Last 100 Days of the War. He is memorialized on the VIMY MEMORIAL ; Pas de Calais, France.
