On September 22 1922, Amy Roost, 15, arrived in Canada on SS Minnedosa, her object in going to Canada was for domestic work. Her passage was paid by Dr Barnardo Homes. She was destined to C/O Mrs Hobday, 538 Jarvis St, Toronto, her next of kin was sister-Alice Roost, 32 Elder Road, West Norwood, London, England.

Her younger brother William, born 1915, was sent to Fairbridge Farm School in Western Australia, another child emigration scheme.
