NotesA birth registration was found for Robert Henry Rumsby: Year of Registration: 1875; Quarter of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar; District: Croydon; County: Greater London, Kent, Surrey; Volume: 2a; Page: 185. Parents: John Rumsby and Rhoda Stollery, married 1872 in Croydon, Surrey, England.

In 1887, Robert Rumsby, 12, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 18 children from Croydon Union Workhouse accompanied by Rev. R. F. Winter and en route to various places.

"Copy of Reports of Inspection of Pauper Children sent out to Canada made by Immigration Officers of the Dominion Government and received from the Colonial Office on the 12th December 1888.
