In February 1913, Doris Sale, 15, attempted to enter America, initially refused but appealed, she previously lived in Collins Bay, had no family in Canada, was heading to a friend-Mrs E P Barnes, Kewardine, Michigan, she was noted as being deaf in one ear, (the notes as to the appeal resulted were hard to read, seemed to indicate that she was allowed in
