NotesParents: Thomas Salloway and Fanny Maria Mitchell, married 1895 in Tamworth, Staffordshire, England.

Fanny Marie Salloway, nee Mitchell died on March 19, 1909. Their father Thomas Salloway sent Thomas and his sisters Frances Winifred and Florence, to be cared for by Barnardo's.

In 1911, Frances W. Salloway, 14, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 176 Barnardo girls en route to Hazelbrae, Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.

She was a Nursemaid to "Johnno". Wealthy family, after the father died the family, including Winnie, went to live in Toronto. The family she worked for owned a boarding house which Winnie worked at until she ran away due to the harsh working conditions (at about 16 years of age).

In December, 1916, at Toronto, York, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Frances Winifred Salloway, 20, waitress, born in England to Thomas Salloway and Maria Mitchell; and George Antoine Kostis [Konstantopoulos], 20, waiter, born in Greece to Theodoras Antonie Konstantopoulos and Mary Marcari Poulos.

There were ten children born to this couple: George Kostis (born and died September 23, 1917, at Toronto, Ontario, Canada)(stillborn twin of Mary); Mary Athena Maria Kostis (born September 23, 1917, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada; died February 3, 1993, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada); Viola Gladys Helen Kostis (born November 14, 1918, in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada; died in London, Ontario, Canada); George Stanley William Kostis (born March 25, 1920 in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada; died April 14, 1972, in Ontario, Canada); Cyril Edward John Kostis (born March 25, 1922, in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada; died May 2, 1961, in London, Ontario, Canada); Ronald Antonio Christoper Kostis (Born March 2, 1925 in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada; died June 15, 1979 in Chatham, Ontario, Canada); Vernon "Vernie" Francis Kostis (born March 19, 1927 in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada; died April 27, 1928 in London, Ontario, Canada); Ruth Winnifred Kostis (born February 28, 1930 in London, Ontario, Canada; died February 28, 2000 in Parkhill, Ontario, Canada); Dorothy Florence Kostis (born and died May 24, 1934, in London, Ontario, Canada); Margaret Jean Kostis born in London, Ontario, Canada

Francis Winifred Salloway Kostis died on April 27, 1983, in Strathroy, Ontario, Canada. She is buried at Woodland Cemetery, 493 Springbank Drive. Sec.: QW Row: 3 Stn.: 22. Her marker is rust granite and small. She is buried with her husband, George A. Kostis.
