NotesIn 1895, Hugh Sanderson, 6, arrived at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, in a group of 133 Barnardo boys accompanied by Mr. A. B. Owen and en route to Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Hugh's death was reported in the July 1900 Ups and Downs Magazine:

"A severe attack of pneumonia proved fatal to Hugh Sanderson at Huntsville on March 12th, and three days later the remains of our little friend were borne to their last resting place in the presence of a large assemblage of neighbors and friends."
