In 1871, Frank Shepherd, 9, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 137 Maria Rye children en route to Niagra, Ontario, Canada.

From Families Vol. 34, No.2, 1995:

"On 13 November 1873, the Master of the (Marlborough Union) Workhouse, Mr. Childe, reported that he had written to the authorities at Marchmont, Belleville, to ask about the two boys, Frank SHEPPARD and John PHELPS, who had been in the party which emigrated in July 1871, and that he had received a very satisfactory reply. There is no further information about the children."

[POSSIBLE MATCH] On October 18, 1896, a man named Frank Sheppard, age unknown, labourer, was found dead in Lennox and Addington, Ontario, Canada. The cause of his death was unknown. The informant, Dr. Meacham, stated: "This is all the information I can get about this man. He lived in a barn and nobody near him at the time of his death."
