NotesHerbert Shooter travelled to Australia in a group of 53 Barnardo children from London, accompanied by Matron Hodgetts and Mr John Gregg. The boys were aged from nine to 17 years. The older lads were to be sent on to farms, and the younger ones to school at Mowbray Park, Picton.

One boy was put ashore at Colombo with a septic leg (name unknown) and another, William RALPH, stayed in Western Australia; 51 boys went on to Sydney. (Source: NLA Trove newspapers)
