Private Roy Gregory Simmonds died on August 6 1916 while with Canadian Infantry (Eastern Ontario Regiment), he was recorded as the son of Sarah Simmonds, of Bridge Croft, Widdington, Newport, Essex, England. He was buried in Bramshott (St Mary) Churchyard.
