NotesIn 1887, George Skillicorn, 9 (along with brother, Joseph Skillicorn, 12) arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 96 children from Catholic Children Protection Society, Liverpool, England, accompanied by Mrs. Margaret Lacy, and en route to Hotel Dieu, Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

"Copy of Reports of Inspection of Pauper Children sent out to Canada made by Immigration Officers of the Dominion Government and received from the Colonial Office on the 12th December 1888.

Report of Mr. W. J. Wills, Government Immigration Agent at Ottawa.

George Skillicorn, aged 10. From West Derby Union. Placed with Michael Hennessy, Bellamys P.O., Co. Leeds, Ontario. Well placed by Rev.F. Kerrick.

Report of Mr. R. Mcpherson, Government Immigration Agent at Kingston.

George Skillicorn, aged 9. From West Derby Union. Placed with Rev. Fr. Kelly, of Merrickville. Transferred to Michael Hennessy, Whitehurst P.O.?Rev. Fr. Kelly reports this boy as good in every respect, in good home, giving full satisfaction and pleased with his place, attending school."
