Notes Sent by Bristol Union
with James H Day, farmer, Lands End, Kings, NB
August 15 1902
Age 14, first class situation, employed at general work, good health, attends Methodist Church, character-fair,
Terms-$4 per month wages, board and pocket money. I regret that this boy does not get along agreeably with the family, as he has in every way a desirable situation and splendid opportunities to learn farming. He is a fine looking, bright, active boy, but complains that they do not give him sufficient encouragement, and admits it is difficult for him to control his temper. Mr Day seems to like the boy, notwithstandng, and thinks that perhaps, it would be advisable to find another situation for him, as he believes that the lad would be anxious to return to him after a time, and do better.
