He resided in Bristol, New Brunswick, and intended on visiting his friend, Fred Rogers who resided in Big Beaver, Michigan. He intended on remaining permanently in the United States. His next of kin was his brother, Albert, who resided in New Brunswick. He had immigrated on the Mongolian in June 1910.
In 1930, John R. Speakman, 31, cement mixer, was shown residing at 117 Maple Street, Royal Oak, Oakland, Michigan. Other family members included: Helen I. Speakman, 24; and Andrey I. Speakman, 10 months. He declared he had been married 3 years and had emigrated to the US in 1928.
