Albert Stapleton was admitted to Norwood Schools on August 2, 1894. His father, Edward, was in the Renfrew Road Workhouse. Edward Stapleton was transported to Lock Hospital on July 20, 1894, where he died on October 1, 1894.
Albert's sisters, Louise and Alice were residing at 22 Victoria Terrace, Queens Road, Battersea, London.
Albert was discharged to Barnardo's Home on June 12, 1901.
In 1901, Albert Stapleton, 11, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a large group of Barnardo Children: 239 to Toronto, Ontario; 68 to Winnipeg, Manitoba; 20 to Russell, Manitoba; and 3 to Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.

This boy is comfortably situated and appears to be very happy. He is with a good farmer, and will no doubt do well.

[POSSIBLE MATCH] On February 11, 1914, Albert Stapleton, 25, farmer, returned to England from America on SS Olympic. He declared that his last permanent residence was Canada.
