Immigrant Boy in Trouble
Stratford, April 25.--Charles Steeley, recently brought out from England by one of the immigration societies has been arrested, charged with attempting to murder his former employer, William Dow and the latter's wife. He is also charged with setting fire and destroying barns belonging to Dow. The prisoner alleges that Dow owed him some money, which he had refused to pay.
On February 1, 1902, at Toronto, York, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Charles Steeley, 29, tailor, born in London, England, to William and Elizabeth Steeley; and Sarah Graham, 23, born at Fermanagh, Ireland, to Robert Graham and Dinah Reid.
At least 4 children were born of this marriage: William Robert Steeley, born February 1, 1903; Dinah Elizabeth Steeley, born September 23, 1905, died September 25, 1905, of hemorrhage from bowels; Alice Steeley, born January 18, 1914, died January 24, 1914, of spina bifida and premature birth (never took nourishment); and George Steeley, stillborn (placenta previa) on August 11, 1910.
