NotesIn 1901, Matilda Stoddern, 9 years of age, was residing at 16 Calenick Street, Kenwyn, Cornwall, England. Other family members included: Reffell Rizzie, 23, boarder, ice cream vendor; Roneslly; Rizzie, 5, boarder; James Stoddern, 4; Richard Stoddern, 50, scissors grinder; and Rosa Stoddern, 40. In 1906, Mathilda Stoddern, 15, arrived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, along with a group of 100 girls en route to Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.

[EDITORS NOTE: This is the only Matilda Stoddard in the 1911 census--though the age is completely wrong.] In 1911, Matilda Stoddard, 11, lodger with Samuel Joseph Newton and family in Mulmur, Dufferin, Ontario, Canada. Her date of birth is shown as 1899 and her immigration year was unknown.

On February 2, 1914, at Toronto, York, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Matilda Mae Stoddard, 22, born in Cardiff, Wales, daughter of Richard Stoddard and Rose Hill; and Ralph Weekes Davies, 27, police(man), born in St. Neots, England; son of Walter Davies and Harriet Embry.
