NotesJoseph was my grandfather's brother.When his mother died in 1886,my grandfather and his older sister were taken in by family members,the two younger children died in the workhouse and Joseph was taken in to Barnardos in Stepney,London. He was shipped to Canada and went to a farmer(Mr Brown) in Lindsay Ontario. He married in 1901 and worked on the Canadaian Pacific Railway. He and his wife Mary had four children and he died in Midland,Ontario in 1948. I corresponded with his grandson's wife for a while,but she died and as I am not the direct line descendant,I am unable to access his records.However I recently made contact with his great great granddaughter and she has applied for his records
