In 1891, William Day, 31, wife Alice L, 31, and children Florence E, 5, Charles, 4, Wilfred, 2, May L, 2 months, and boarders Henry Suddard, 9, Percy Suddard. 6, in Abbess Reading, Essex

Sent by West Ham Union, placed with Charles W Clarke, farmer, Bayside, Hastings, Ontario. Inspection undertaken on 18 Feb 1897

Age about 13, comfortable home, farm home, health good, character good, Terms-Board, Lodging and Clothing and $3 per month
from April next-employment works about the house and barns and chopping wood in the bush. Works too much for his age. He is not properly clad for work in the bush, has no overcoat or overall shoes. Mr Clarke will not allow the boy to go to school, or pay for books, took him for work not school. Mr Wallace was notified.
