Notes Daisy was the youngest of 5 children. Her mother died in 1900, her father in a work house in 1901 in Swindon, England. The older children were all in homes as servants, she was young, and although do not know the reason she was sent to Barnardo's. There she came to Canada aboard the Dominion, and went to Hazelbrae in Peterborough. From there she went to St. Catharines, in Niagara, and was put to work at a dairy, called Sanation Dairy. She was 13, and had to lift those large cans filled with milk and put them on the truck to be delivered. My grandfather was a teamster, they met, and on Oct. 3, 1908, exactly 5 years and 1 day after arriving in Canada she married. She had two daughters who have sinced passed, and several grandchildren. I am one of them, and although I was little when she died I remember her, and my job is too find out why her family sent her, etc. Up until last year I did not know she had a family.
