In 1890, William Thorpe, 8, arrived at Montreal, Quebec, Canada, along with a group of 15 Macpherson children, accompanied by Mr. Wallace, en route to Belleville, Ontario, Canada.

William Thorpe married Mary Saunderson, born in England. Mary Thorpe, housewife, died on January 26, 1925, at Weston Sanitarium, Weston, Ontario, Canada. The informant was her mother-in-law, Emma Thorpe, who resided at 395 Leslie Street.

William Thorpe, widower, died November 15, 1925, of pulmonary tuberculosis complicated by asthma, at his home at 395 Leslie Street, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. His occupation at that time was as a machinist for W. R. Perrin Co. He was buried in Toronto. The informant was his older brother, Harold Thorpe.
