NotesOlive's mother died when Olive was aged about two years; her father died when she was about seven years old. In 1908, at age 15, Olive and her younger sister Martha aged 13 travelled on the ship "Corsican" to Canada.

In 1917, Olive was living in Cochrane Ontario Canada. Her sister Martha visited Olive in Cochrane and Martha met her future husband Murdo Munro MacLeod in Cochrane during that visit.

Olive married Robert M Peel and the couple had seven children. One of their children, Betty Peel, married a Mr Doherty and had two daughters and one son.

Olive died in 1935.

Hopefully Olive's history can be expanded by her descendants.

Olive was my grandmother. Betty Peel is my mother. Her name is actually Olive, but everyone has called her Betty since her birth.

Olive was married to Robert Peel, who was also from England. Their children were Robert, Elsie, Olive (Betty), Mildred, Arthur, Dorothy (Dolly) and Roberta (Bobby). Olive died in childbirth in 1932. The surviving children are Betty, Dolly and Bobby.

Betty (my Mom) married Leonard Doherty in 1940, and they had 3 children. She will be 92 next month and is still going strong. I will show her this site, and I'm sure she will have much to add about Olive and Olive's sister Martha's histories.
