NotesLived with Heffernan family of Arthur, Wellington, Ont, same as my BHC Elizabeth Griffin in Canada.

Placed in Middlesbrough Union Workhouse along with brother William in 1900. Mother Julia was possibly admitted to the workhouse while father may have been in prison.

Transferred to Nazareth House, Middlesbrough in January 1901.

Evidence of possible other siblings who were in service and other institutions in 1901 found.

I can find no birth registration for her and she does not appear with the family in 1891 so she is a bit of a mystery

placed with Mrs C Heffernan, hotel keeper, Arthur Town,

Age 14, satisfactorily placed, employed at light housework, a healthy looking girl, attends Roman Catholic Church and Separate school, character good, terms-practically adopted, Margaret Usher has a comfortable home and is carefully looked after. She has very little work to do and attends school regularly.

Parents named on marriage record as Julia Heatherington and John Usher.

Married Lewis Herbert Williams in Toronto in 1920.

Lewis Herbert Williams died on March 3 1970 in Saanich, BC

a son named Frank Douglas was born to the couple on Feb 16 1926, he died on July 18 1984, he was married to a Joyce Maria Kathleen O'Connor

Most of the above info on her background was found in the records for the Middlesbrough Union while seeking info on my own home child.

If any descendant ever reads this, please get in touch as I have gathered a lot of info on this youngster and would like to pass it on to her descendants
