Notes Katie Scott, 10, arrived in Quebec with a group of 122 children from Glasgow, accompanied by Mr. Burgess.
Catherine Scott Walls, who was also known as Catherine Wales Scott, lived in Quarriers Village between 1890 and 1896. Catherine came to Quarriers due to the separation of her parents and her mother having to work as a 'domestic'. She wasn't an orphan but came from a financially deprived family and a broken home.
A book, "Chasing Grandma," has been written by Catherine's grand-daughter Barbara Young, and an episode of "Past Lives," a Canadian TV documentary (produced by Montreal-based Productions Bleu Blanc Rouge Inc., a member of Equipe Spectra) has been filmed about Catherine and her family's search for her roots.
