His father was Alfred Charles Westley, his mother Mary Martha and a younger brother listed William Alfred Westley. Further records on Alfred Charles Westley suggest he himself was killed in 1918 in the Great War, 2 years after Harold was killed.

His remains were exhumed and he was buried at Harlebeke New British Cemetery, Harlebeke, West Flanders, Belgium. Plot: XIV. D. 7.
