Notes Ships register shows a C. Whale age 9 arriving in Canada June 27 1896. The only constant from here on is the first name and birth year.
1901 transcribed Census shows a Charles Whalen age 14 as a son of the Carlisle Family in York New Brunswick. There is a flag on this person but no notes to stipulate what they are correcting or suggesting needs to be corrected. The birth day is shown as February 14 1887.

Followed up at the request of Roy Leigh wanting the year of immigration confirmed and proper name confirmed.
On Ancestry's 1901 census Charles is indexed as Charles WHALEN , however on close examination, the name is actually WHALES. I have submitted a surname correction to Ancestry. He immigrated in 1896 which matches the LAC record under C. WHALE.
*** side note - Charles is listed as "son" to the Carslile(sic)family
*** side note - a Maud Kern age 13, born in England is listed as daughter - confirmed she was a BHC and has been added to the database.
I looked for the passenger list on Ancestry and Charles (C) is not to be found under any surname variation in the index - however by searching for another passenger on the same ship I did find Charles listed on the Corean passenger list and he's listed as C. WHALE arriving June 27, 1896 as per the LAC information.
On Ancestry's 1911 census the family Charles Whale is living with is GLASS not GLASSE as transcribed on the Automated Gen. website. Also Charles is actually WHALE and not White - so both those surnames need corrections submitted on the Automated Gen. website.

Charles is actually not "also known as" Whalen or White as both were the transciption mistakes.
Note the GLASS family live next door to the CARLISLE family where Charles is found on the 1901 census listed as a son.
The census sheet says Charles immigrated in 1898 rather than 1896 - he was only 9 when he arrived, to remember the specific year he arrived, would not be considered an issue here.
There are several Charles Whales born in 1887, so it's difficult to narrow down which Charles is on the 1891 UK census.
