NotesEric Wheeler was born in Birmingham and his mother is listed in Fairbridge Farm records in Western Australia as Frances Wheeler. Eric listed is dad on his marriage certificate as Robert John Wheeler but I do not know if that is accurate as I have not been able to find a birth certificate.

Eric was sent out to Australia aged 10 arriving in Western Australia July 1930. Eric believed he had a sister and I would love to be able to trace his history, i.e. what home he was in before being sent to Australia, why he was placed there, etc., etc.

Eric enlisted (NAA RecordSearch) and next of kin was his wife Dorothy Irene or North Carlton in Victoria, though initially it is given as The Principal, Fairbridge Farm School, Pinjarra WA:
WHEELER ERIC : Service Number - 23729 : Date of birth - 25 Sep 1919 : Place of birth - BIRMINGHAM ENGLAND : Place of enlistment - FREMANTLE : Next of Kin - WHEELER DOROTHY
He served as a stoker on the HMAS Yarra: {website}ww2roll.gov.au/Veteran.aspx?serviceId=N&veteranId=1181266 - the ship failed to return after going to Java.
