Notes From the Fegan newsletters:
Lawrence was one of two brothers received from Bristol when he was ten years old. The reason given on the Form of Application for admission was that his widowed mother was "overwhelmea with children". Lawrence has been in only one situation since he arrived in Canada in 1910. He fitten at once into the family circle where he was placed. His reports have been uniformly very satisfactory, and each report speaks of progress "not only in health, usefulness, and earning power, but in exemplary character and in the esteem and affection of the people he is living with". He is earning $100 a year. In 1911 he contributed $5 to the New Year's Thanoffering, in 1912 $5 and this year $10 so he is fairly on the way to become a Roll of Honour boy. He is spoken of very enthusiastically by our visitor as a splendid manly lad, who is a general favorite.
