Attestation paper for World War I was signed 20 Oct 1916 in Sussex, New Brunswick, Canada. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland on 1 Dec 1895. His Next of Kin was friend, Paul Dolan of Woodlawn, Ontario. John was a Farmer by trade. He was 5'3" with fair freckled skin, blue eyes and red hair, he had a small mole beneath his left ear, a small mole on the right side of his neck. His religion is listed as Presbyterian.
