There are indications that both Fred and Charles pursued the pork butcher trade as they appear in the 1911 UK census assisting other pork butchers in the area. GPB records have been created for both Fred and Charles.

Her brother is pork butcher Georg BAUER (George BOWER) - Source: 1911 UK Census showing her son Fred assisting his uncle. It is possible that Lena BAUER (BOWER) is a sister. She appears on 1891 Census as a servant to Karl and Caroline, but is shown to be born in the same small village of Berndshausen. It is also possible that pork butcher Friedrich BAUER, also living in Malton, YKS, and from Berndshausen is a brother.
