Notes Married to ID 28655 "Lene" Reinhardt born 1872 in Berndshausen. On the 1891 Census he is entered as a visitor at Frederick and Marie Mathes.Frederick Mathes owned the butcher's shop at 35 Clarendon Street, Chorlton upon Medlock, Lancashire. He was interned (where?) his wife as well, probably and died in 1944 in Germany. However, there are no records relating to this. If anyone has any knowledge of this or can point in the right direction to find this out, it would be great. His children remained in England.
Changed his name on arrival in England as did his brother John Frederick Bader of Leeds. Was interned in Spalding Camp, Lincolnshire and repatriated to Germany 26 October 1918. I have copies of International Red Cross papers with these details. Brother JFB was naturalised before the war and was not interned. Source Bruce609
