WW1 - interned at Knockaloe, Isle of Man. Two occasions noted in Red Cross prisoner of war records of Gottlieb in hospital there - 14 July 1916 for vertigo and 19 July 1916 cardiac weakness. Gottlieb was repatriated to Weissbach and died at Heilbronn in 1917. His home address before internment 82 Whittier Street, Smithdown Road, Liverpool.
