Notes After his arrival in Britain, Christian Krumrein appears as Apprentice Butcher to John Fiehren a German Pork Butcher in Liverpool (Census 1901). At the same time his later wife Margarete Stumpf was a 13 year old nursemaid born in Germany and living with a Christian Vogle (Vogel).(Census 1901).
Christian Krumrein was first interned in Stobs Camp near Wawick and later in Knockaloe Camp in the Isle of Man during WW I. His wife and his two daughters were sent back to Germany. They found shelter in Gerabronn. After the war, Christian also came to Gerabronn in 1919.
