Aged 19, Munz died on 16 February 1918, on the Western Front, while serving with the 3rd Labour Company, The Duke of Cambridge's Own (Middlesex Regiment) — one of a number of companies subordinate to the regiment that were composed predominantly of the offspring of "enemy aliens".[1] He is buried in Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery.
