NotesEmmeline Ada May Standing was born May 5, 1894 in Fittleworth, Sussex, England, daughter of Albert Standing and Elizabeth Hedger.

At the age of 9 years, Emeline and her sister, Olive Daisy Standing (born December 5, 1889), were admitted to Barnardo's Girls Village Home at Barkingside, Essex, England, where they resided in Trefoil Cottage. Olive Standing died there, aged 16, on April 7, 1907.

In 1908, Emeline Standing, 15, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of Barnardo children consisting of 109 girls and 219 boys, accompanied by Mr. Lloyd and en route to Toronto, and Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.

Emmeline appeared to have been placed by Barnardo's for several years and worked in Bowmanville, Solina, Barrie, Shanty Bay, Tyrone and Enniskillen.

On November 23, 1915, at Tyrone, Durham, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Emily A. M. Standing, 24, born in West Worthing, England, to Albert and Mrs. Standing; and George Valentine Fogg, 23, farmer, born in Darlington, Ontario, Canada, to John Robert Fogg and Mary Jane Dowson.

George and Emmeline Standing Fogg had at least 4 children: Brenton Ross Fogg; George Beverly Fogg; John Fogg; and Ruth Josephine Fogg.

Her family tell of a woman who was a good parent, but lacking in affection or warmth.

Emmeline Ada May Standing Fogg died on October 1, 1975 at the age of 81 at Bowmanville Hospital, Bowmanville, Ontario. George Valentine Fogg died on August 11, 1986, at the farm on Clarke/Darlington line, Ontario, Canada.
