In 1891, Harry Beak, 7 years of age, was residing at 131 Princep Street, Swindon, Wiltshire, England. Other family members included: Albert George Beak, 34, shoemaker; Clara Beak, 4; Eliza Beak, 42; Herbert Beak, 10; and Sidney Beak, 2.

A death registration was found for Albert George Beak: Estimated Birth Year: abt 1856; Year of Registration: 1893; Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun; Age at Death: 37; District: Highworth; County: Wiltshire; Volume: 5a; Page: 4.

In 1895, Albert Beak, 12 (along with his brother, Herbert Beak, 14) arrived in Quebec, Canada, with a group of 150 boys en route to Toronto and 52 older boys to Russell, Manitoba, Canada.

In Barnardo's UPS & DOWNS, Volume I, No. 7, February 7, 1896: "BEAK Albert Henry works at Woodstock for: BIDDIS Benjamin 'one of our old friends.'" [EDITORS NOTE: Benjamin BIDDIS was another Barnardos Boy who became a fairly prosperous farmer. See his biography in the BHC Database.]

In 1910, Albert B. Beak, 27, was shown as a servant / coach man on private farm, to Hal and Irene Brownell at 1420 Main Street, Buffalo, Erie, New York. (Source: 1910 Census of the United States; Census Place: Buffalo Ward 21, Erie, New York; Roll: T624_947; Page: 13A; Enumeration District: 204; Image: 457.) He stated his immigration year to be 1888.

On September 12, 1918, Albert Harry Beak, 35, registered for the United States Draft. He declared that he was residing at 165A Main Street, Buffalo, Erie, New York; that his date of birth was February 1st, 1883; that he was born in England; that he was a chipper for the [illegible] Ship Building Corp., located at 344 Vulcan Street, Buffalo, Erie, New York; and that his next of kin was his brother, Sidney Beak, who was a prisoner of war in Switzerland. He was described as medium height; medium build; grey eyes; and auburn hair.

In 1920, Albert Beak, 36, auto mechanic, born in England (immigrated to USA in 1906), was a prisoner in the Erie County Penitentiary, located at Buffalo Ward 26, Erie, New York. On December 3, 1946, Albert Harry Beak, 63, entered the United States through Buffalo, New York. He declared that he had been born in New Swindon, England; that he was single; that he was a mechanic; that his last permanent residence was Woodstock, Ontario, Canada; that his next of kin was his brother Sydney Beak, who resided in Devonshire, England; that he intended to visit E[illegible], 162 Breckenridge Street, Buffalo, New York; that he had never been arrested [EDITORS NOTE: I think we have a little white lie here!]; that he intended to reside in the United States permanently; that he was 5 foot 5 inches in height; medium complexion; blue eyes; auburn hair; that the first joint, second finger, right hand was amputated; and that he immigrated to Canada in 1896 on the SS Sardinia.
