In 1903, Margaret Colbear (Canadian incoming lists the surname as Coldbear), 8 (along with her sister, Ada Col(d)bear, 11), arrived at Quebec, Canada, along with a group of 137 children en route to Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.

In 1911, Margaret Colbear, 16, is shown as a domestic to John and Edith Ploughman of Scugog, Ontario South, Ontario, Canada. Her date of birth is shown as October, 1894, and her immigration year as 1908.

On September 1, 1914, at Ontario, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Margaret Elizabeth Colbear, 20, born in England to Arthur Colbear and Elizabeth Stevens; and Orma Carswell Hood, 28, farmer, born in Ontario, Canada, to Paul Hood and Lydia Ellen Gummell.

[EDITORS NOTE: In 1914, on the ship Andania, Margaret's brother, Frederick Colbear, arrived at Quebec, Canada, to reside with his brother in Port Perry, Ontario, Canada. He declared that he was a farm laborer and chauffeur and intended to remain permanently. Frederick Colbear enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces and died at the Wentworth Sanitorium, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, from pulmonary tuberculosis on January 10, 1919. He was buried at St. John's Norway Cemetery, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Sec. 6. Range 14. Lot 9. According to a newspaper clipping after his death, Margaret Hood inherited $140 left in his bank account.)
