He declared that he was born in Birmingham, England; that his next of kin was his sister, Miss Edith Folland, who resided in London, England (this name was crossed out and the name of his brother put in: Harry Folland, who resided at Gately Lodge Cottage, Amberly, Hampshire, England); that his date of birth was May 14, 1897 (this was incorrect and was caught through examination of birth statements received by the enlistment office on July 11, 1917, which showed the date of birth as being May 12, 1899); that he was a farmer; and that he was not married. He was described as 5 foot 4 inches in height; fair complexion; blue eyes; light brown hair. He was a member of the Baptist faith.

On June 1, 1923, Albert Folland, 24, was debarred from entering the United States through Detroit, Michigan, due to "quota exhausted". He declared that he was a laborer; that he was from England; that he lived in Hartland; that his next of kin was his brother, Fred Folland, who resided in Edmonton, Alberta; that he carried $38 on his person; that he had no address for where he would be staying in the US; that he had shrapnel in his skull and a wound on his right shoulder; that he was 5 foot 8 inches in height; medium complexion; light brown hair; and green eyes. He was born in Birmingham, England.

On July 11, 1923, Albert Folland, 24, entered the United States through Detroit, Michigan. He declared that he was a vulcanizer; that he was from England; that he lived in Hartland; that his next of kin was his brother, Fred Folland, who resided in Edmonton, Alberta; that he carried $35 on his person; that he would visiting his friend, Rice Watson, who resided at 104 Kayser Street, Royal Oak, Michigan; that he intended to stay permanently.

In 1930, Albert V. Folland, 29, serviceman in a gas station, 105 Center Street, Fenton, Genessee, Michigan, USA, along with his wife, Margaret Folland, 21, and children: Alice M. Folland, 2 years 6 months; and Betty M. Folland, 4 months. He declared that he had been married or 3 years and had immigrated to the United States in 1922.
