In 1881, Mabel Grant, 5 years of age, was shown residing at 10 Carpenter Street, Perthshire, Scotland, with her parents Mary Grant, 28, and Nelson Grant, 39, Army Pensioner. (1881 Census of Scotland, Perth East Church, Perthshire; ED: 1; Household schedule number: 73; Line: 7; Roll: 1881_109.)
