He had several brothers and sisters - Minnie Fry (Mrs. Minnie Rumble of London England), Arthur J. Fry, Charles Fry, Harry Fry, and Lucy E. Fry. Alfred Edgar Fry was sent to Canada on the "Corsican" which left Liverpool on May 20, 1909 and arrived in Quebec on May 28, 1909. He would have been 10 or 11 years old. When he came to Canada, he worked on a farm in Kincardine, Ontario for a farmer named Hawkshaw. He left to join the army when he was 14 years old and was shot in the left ankle, either at Vimy Ridge or the Marne. When he returned to Canada, he married Lily May (Bailey) on June 9, 1918 in Toronto. They had four children, one son still living. Alfred Edgar Fry died of stomach cancer and leukemia on or about April 1, 1949.
