Their sister Ada was listed in the Dr Barnardo Home in Ilford aged 10.

On November 29th 1915, Albert Lewis Emmerson born July 1 1892 Ipswich, enlisted in the Canadian Army, he gave his next of kin
initially as Ada Emmerson, sister, Notting Hill, London, this was later changed to wife-Rosetta Emmerson, Arnprior??

On 2 August 1916, Albert Lewis Emmerson, 22, Soldier, born Belfast, Ireland, son of Lewis Emmerson, married Rosetta Quinn, 20, born Belfast, Ireland, daughter of James Quinn and Maria McGee, in Smiths Falls, Lanark, Ontario

On 8 November 1917, Private A L Emmerson killed in action in Belgium, he was with the Canadian Infantry (Central Ontario Regiment) he is buried in the LIJSSENTHOEK MILITARY CEMETERY
