In 1908, Oliver Arnold, 12, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of Barnardo children: 109 girls to Peterborough, and 219 boys accompanied by Mr. Lloyd.

Oliver was placed with M. Gilson, Ontario, Canada.

Private Oliver Samuel Arnold, 116th Battalion Canadian Infantry (Central Ontario Regiment), died on August 22, 1917 in France. He is buried at Aix-Noulette Communal Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France.
