NotesWhen Agnes was admitted to Barnardos with her brother Leonard Smith, it was noted in her file that her parents (John and Charlotte Smith) "were drifters of no affixed address," and her mother was "enlarged with child." It was further noted they were alcoholics.

In 1902, Agnes Smith, 11, arrived at Boston, Massachusetts, USA, along with a group of 400 Barnardo children en route to Toronto and Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. (Her brother, Leonard Smith, 16, arrived in 1907 on the Dominion with Barnardos.)

In 1911, Agnes Smith, 20, was shown as a domestic to James and Jane Armstrong of Torbolton, Carleton, Ontario, Canada. Her date of birth is shown as September 1890 and her immigration year as 1902.

On February 25, 1914, at the Church of England, Carleton, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Agnes Smith, 23, born in Torbolton to William Smith and Mary Elizabeth Craig; and William Curren, 36, labourer, born in Russell, to James Curren and Eliza Hands. Her brother, Leonard Smith, was a witness to the marriage.

William and Agnes Smith Curren had at least three children: Elizabeth Curren; Kathleen Agnes Curren; and George Curren.

In 1916, William and Agnes Smith Curren were residing in City View, Ontario, Canada (per attestaton papers of her brother, Leonard George Smith.)

Agnes Smith Curren died in 1968 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and William Curren died in 1958 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. They are buried in St. John?s Anglican Merivale Cemetery.
