NotesParents: George Willis and Vashti Palmer.

When George Willis, Sr., died in May, 1900, the family consisting of Vashti Willis; daughters Martha Lily age 22; Vashti Kate age 17; son George age 14; and Ada age 9, were residing at 11 Hawkins Street, Swindon, England.

Their mother, Vashti, could not look after the two youngest children and in May, Ada and George were admitted to Barnardos. Ada was placed in a cottage called "Honeysuckle" in Barkingside.

In 1900, George Willis, 10, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 162 Barnardo boys en route to Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

George's employer in Canada may have been a William J. Brown in Utica, Ontario, Canada.

It has not been ascertained whether George ever married or had children. The last contact Barnardos had with him was when he was an inmate in a mental institute where he had been residing for 10 years as incurable.
