In 1861, Albert Saunders, 2 years of age, was shown residing at St. Marys Butts, Reading, Berkshire, England. Other family members included: Ellen Saunders, 31; Ellen Saunders, 9; Emily Saunders, 2 Months; Mary Saunders, 14; William Saunders, 34, shoe maker; and William W. Saunders, 7. The family was split up after the death of both parents in 1870. The three youngest children were sent to the Muller Orphanage in Bristol.

In 1871, Albert Saunders, 12, arrived at Quebec, Canada, along with a group of 148 MacPherson children en route to Belleville, Ontario, Canada.

On July 5, 1883, at York, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Albert Saunders, 23, labourer, born in England to William and Harriett Saunders; and Ann Elizabeth Jennings, 19, born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, to Henry and Harriet Jennings.

In 1891, Albert Saunders, 30, bricklayer, was shown residing at York East, Ontario, Canada. His date of birth was shown as January 8, 1860, and his immigration year as 1870. On July 10, 1934, Albert Saunders, 74 years, was found dead in his bed at 212 Baliol Street, Toronto, York, Ontario, Canada. Cause of death was angina pectoris. The informant was his daughter, Mrs. Tonkin, who resided at 121 Hedington Drive, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She stated he had been a florist; his birth was in February 1860; that he had been born in Kent, England; that his parents names were William and Elizabeth Saunders; and that he was married. He was buried at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery on July 12, 1934.
