In 1906, Lizzie Ames, 11 (along with siblings Frank Ames, 11; Henry Ames, 10; and Sarah Ames, 15) arrived at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, with a group of 159 children en route to the Middlemore Home in Halifax.
