Parents: Arthur Ames and Elizabeth Willis, married 1881, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, England.

In 1906, Frank Ames, 11 (along with siblings Lizzie Ames, 11; Henry Ames, 10; and Sarah Ames, 15) arrived at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, with a group of 159 children en route to the Middlemore Home in Halifax.

On July 26, 1915, in York, New Brunswick, Canada, a marriage was registered between Frank Benjamin Ames, 21, laborer, born in Redditch, England, son of Arthur and Elizabeth Ames; and Ella May Campbell, 18, born in Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada, daughter of William and Anne A. Frank Ames operated Taxi Service in Fredericton N.B. His were the first Radio Equipped taxis in the city. He also was employed as a Mechanic and Foreman with Provincial Government Garage.

Frank and Ella Mae Campbell were divorced.

Frank Ames died in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada in 1974. Ella Mae Campbell Ames died in Moncton, New Brunswick Canada in 1985.

Frank Ames is buried in Douglas Rural Cemetery in Fredericton North near to McAdam Avenue School on Wilkins Avenue.
